May 11 OLC Meeting
The meeting is being called for two reasons:
1. To provide training for the collection of signatures to get SB 5 on the
Ballot.
2. We have been asked by Gary Obermiller, the current Law Enforcement
Administrator for the Department of Natural Resources for him to come to a
meeting and talk with the officers in the field for some open and honest
discussion. Gary would like to come and meet with us to discuss his
section, their role and how they work with the officers and what officers
think their role should be. He would also like to get feed back from YOU
the local county Wildlife Officer and Wildlife Investigator. He is willing
to sit and talk with YOU, about these issues and also be there for YOU to
ask questions and to have him answer them. This has never taken place
before, since I have been working for the past 22 years, it most likely has
not ever happened.
This is a opportunity for YOU to have some direct input into the Department
of Natural Resources and have a open line of communication with the Law
Section for the Department of Natural Resources. I would encourage all to
attend and participate, this opportunity does not happen very often.
The meeting will be held at the Johnstown Sportsman Club in Johnstown Ohio (
the same place we have been having our meetings for the past several
years). It will start at 1:00 pm and we will provide food and drink.
This meeting is for Ohio Labor Council Members, it will not be a standard
FOP Meeting with a OLC break out. Basically, you have to be a member of the
union (OLC). If you have questions please call me or email and let me know
if you are going to attend, to help plan for food. We will also have the
latest update on SB5.
Please email this out on your email list to make sure everyone is notified.
I hope to see you all on May 11, 2011 at 1:00pm.
Thanks,
Mike Miller
