Dear Brothers and
Sisters:
As we reflect on this
past year we should all be thankful to the Ohioans that supported our
cause in keeping collective bargaining. For what attempted to divide us,
united all unions with a voice that was not only heard here in the
Buckeye State, but across the United States of America. Also, a personal
thank you to all those members who assisted in that cause.
Just a note of thanks
for your support this past year. I hope all members are able to enjoy a
“Merry little Christmas” with family and friends. A special thought goes
out to our members and their families who are serving overseas fighting
for America’s freedom.
Merry Christmas and
Happy New Year to you and yours. Looking forward to seeing you all in
the new year.
Fraternally,
David E. Dobbins
President
Once again the alternate position
for the Negotiating Committee is vacant.
Congratulations to Paul Baker as he has
excepted a TWL Park Officer Supervisor position for the Southeast
District making him ineligible for the negotiating team.
Matt Pfarr and Paul Lallier have
accepted nominations for the vacant position. A vote will be held
at the next meeting (tentatively set for February 6, 2012).
If there are any questions, contact one
of the current Negotiation Committee
Members.
Our Lodge made a donation to Dave Frank for
this event. Great Job Dave!
"I finally got the
climb results today and here is how I did. I raised a total of $
640.00 and out of the 24 climbers (male & female) I placed 7th
overall with a time of 7:41.7. I would like to thank all of you who
donated to the memory of Cindi’s cousin Jill. Overall for the whole
weekend Cleveland / NE Ohio CFF raised over $150,000 with three
events (Wine Tasting, Stair Climb and Strides Walk). Thank you again
and I hope to do this again next year.
Dave Frank"

Below explains the $7
assessment:
Our State Lodge passed a
motion on January 29, 2011 at the winter board meeting to join a Public
Safety coalition with all law enforcement and firefighter unions in
order to have a strong front to save collective bargaining. In doing so,
comes the need for funding for this project. An assessment was passed
stating that the lodges around the State of Ohio would have to pay seven
dollars ($7.00) for each member.
In turn, at our last lodge
meeting, February 8, 2011, a motion was passed to have each member be
personally responsible for reimbursing the lodge for the $7.00 assessment.
This would allow us to pay our per capita to the state and national
lodges in April. “Any member
in arrears in dues or assessments more than thirty days and less than
ninety days shall be deemed delinquent and not in good standing.”
(Section 7 of the Constitution and By-Laws FOP Lodge 149)
We are
asking that each member send the $7.00 assessment to:
FOP #149
C/O Jeremy Davis, Lodge Secretary
PO BOX 419
Kingston, Ohio 45644
If you would like a receipt, please include a
self-addressed, stamped envelope. Thank you to those that have
already paid!
